20 govt. officials of Bangladesh are taking higher training in cyber security at Australian Awards

Twenty officials from various ministries of the Bangladesh government have received scholarships from the University of Queensland, Australia to enhance state cyber security capabilities. BGD e-Gov CIRT has been given the responsibility of this higher training program. Professors from Queensland University of Technology are training with CIRT specialists. The hybrid model training program started on Tuesday (April 19) at the Computer Lab of Bangladesh Computer Council. The inaugural ceremony was attended by BCC Executive Director Dr. Muhammad Abdul Mannan while Duncan McCullough, Second Secretary of the Australian Embassy in Bangladesh and Professor Laurie Lucky, Dean of the Faculty of Education and Social Justice, Queens were present virtually in the program. After the inaugural ceremony, officials from ICT Department, Postal and Telecommunication Department, Justice Department, DGFI, Supreme Court, Economics Department and Digital Security Agency are participating in the ongoing training program on the second floor of ICT Tower in the first phase. At the end of this step, the 6-month training will end at the University of Queensland in Australia. BGD e-Gov CIRT under the auspices of Bangladesh Computer Council and Queensland University of Technology Australia are jointly conducting this training program to strengthen the cyber power of Bangladesh, said BGD e-Gov CIRT Project Director Tareq Mosaddeq Barkatullah. The 'Australia Award' is a great opportunity for the officials of government and non-government organizations in Bangladesh. The award also contributes to the skills development of citizens of South and West Asia.
